FAQ's
Frequently Asked Questions
Planning new alcove units or a media wall? Here are some of the questions we're most commonly asked about bespoke TV units, alcove cabinetry and fitted living-room storage. If there's anything else you'd like to know, call us on 085 786 1511 or send us an enquiry.
How much do bespoke alcove units or media walls cost?
The cost depends on the size of the installation, design, amount of cabinetry and shelving, materials and finishing requirements. Once we’ve discussed your project and seen the space, we’ll provide a clear quotation based on the work involved.
What's the difference between an alcove unit and a media wall?
Alcove units are generally designed to make use of the spaces either side of a chimney breast, often combining cabinets and shelving. A media wall usually creates a larger fitted feature around the TV and can incorporate storage, shelving, equipment and other design elements.
Can you design the unit as well as build it?
Yes. You don’t need to arrive with a finished design. Show us the room and any inspiration you like and we can help develop a layout that works with the proportions of your space and your storage requirements.
Can you build units around a chimney breast?
Yes. Alcoves beside chimney breasts are particularly well suited to bespoke fitted cabinetry because the units can be made precisely around the dimensions of the available space.
Can you include cabinets and shelving?
Yes. Your design can combine closed cupboards, drawers, open shelving and display areas depending on what you’d like to store and the style you’re trying to achieve.
Can cables be hidden inside a TV or media unit?
Yes. Cable access and TV connections can be considered during the design stage so wiring can be kept as discreet as practically possible within the finished installation.
Do you build traditional alcove units as well as modern media walls?
Yes. Projects can range from traditional painted alcove cabinets and bookcases to contemporary built-in TV units and full media-wall installations.
Can you build a TV unit without creating a full media wall?
Absolutely. A bespoke fitted TV unit can be created as a simpler alternative, combining cabinetry and shelving around the television without covering the entire wall.
